Privacy Policy

Kafei ("the app," "we," "us") is a personal coffee-tracking diary. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and how it's handled.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and password. Your password is never stored in plain text or accessible to us — it's handled entirely by our authentication provider (Supabase).
Content you add. The drinks, cafes, ratings, notes, and photos you log are stored so the app can show them back to you. This includes drink details (name, size, price, caffeine estimate, rating, notes, date), cafe details (name, address, location), and photos you attach to a drink or a cafe.
Location. If you grant location permission, we use your device's location to center the map view and help you find nearby cafes. Location is not stored or shared beyond that purpose.
Photo library access. The app requests access to your camera and photo library only when you choose to attach a photo to a drink, or save a generated share card image. We don't access your photo library at any other time.
How Information Is Used
We use your information solely to provide the app's core functionality: keeping your coffee log, showing your stats and history, and letting you search for and save cafes. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Third-Party Services
Kafei relies on a small number of service providers to function:

We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs of any kind. No data from Kafei is sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data (drinks, cafes, photos) at any time from Settings → Delete Account. This action is immediate and cannot be undone.
Children's Privacy
Kafei is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
